The 21st Century Voter ID bill (HF210/SF509) was pased by the House and Senate, but vetoed by Governor Dayton at the end of session, 2011. A new Voter ID Constitutional Amendment bill (SF1577) is now making it’s way through the legislature. The governor has no role to play in the amendment process. If passed by the legislature, the amendment will be put to the voters for ratification on the November 2012 ballot.
